January 1, 2061 = Welcome to the new year chums. I hope your hangovers aren't as bad as mine. The UN has officially declared 2061 to be the "Year of the Comet". Halley's Comet is returning to Earth and it's also the fiftieth anniversary of the Awakening.

January 2, 2061 = President Haeffner sworn in for his second term in office.
Justin Rochefort was killed while en route to DeeCee Sprawl, UCAS, to collect the talon clippings from the Draco Foundation. Marcus Cross was named interim head in his place

January 3, 2061 = Numerous Corps plain on sending probes to Halley's comet, the media has dubbed the competition as "The Probe Race".

January 4, 2061 = Brigadier General Angela Colloton announced "Operation: Excavation". The plan to take back the Renraku Arcology.

January 5, 2061 = UCAS Special Forces flooded the level 2 parking garage of the Renraku Arcology.


January 6, 2061 = Violence erupted in Downtown Seattle, when a doom-sayer threw a homemade bomb into the Seattle Federal Building. He claimed that; "The world would come to an end when the Comet returned." The man was shot and geeked by FBI agents moments later. Panic filled the area, until Lone Star and FBI agents managed to calm the people down. The bomb made a small explosion, injuring one agent. The man was identified as Charles Hooper, a former employee of Fuchi.

January 7, 2061 = In Tacoma, the Spikes attacked a small group of Elven tourists from Tir Tairngire. 6 of the 10 tourists were geeked in the attack. Lone Star announced a major crack down on gang activity. They also plan on bringing in gang specialists (read: Shadowrunners) to handle the violence.
January 8, 2061 = A body was pulled out of the Snoqualmie River this morning. The man, identified as Fredrick Tau-Wou, was a mid-level executive for Wuxing Inc. Wuxing seems to be sweating pretty bad over the incident .

January 9, 2061 = UCAS Special Forces announced today that the Basement levels of the Renraku Arcology are secure.

January 10, 2061 = High Prince Lugh Surehand, of Tir Tairngire, announced that the "State of Emergency", that has been in effect since 2057, is over. He also announced the next Rite of Progression will be held in 2063.

January 11, 2061 = Two Aztechnology helicopters crashed in the Salish-Shidhe Council early this morning. Salish-Shidhe and Aztechnology officials have had no comment on the inncodent.

January 12, 2061 = On Prince Edward Island, UCAS, a radical Native American group declared the island to be the sovereign nation of Abegweit (the original name of the island). They threatened magical retaliation on the scale of the Great Ghost Dance if their demands were not met.

January 13, 2061 = In Everett, Biscon Biomedical was broken into late at night. A few cases of a experimental drug called Cybertram were stolen.

January 14, 2061 = Council person Jame C. Witt, of Snohmish was stabbed to death during a mugging. Lone Star arrested two human youths in connection with the murder.

January 15, 2061 = The Juzu Clinic in Bellevue lost it's funding from Aztechnology. They're sponsering a fund raiser so they can keep their doors open.

January 16, 2061 = A fire along the Tacoma docks claimed two dock workers and one fire fighters lives. The fire was apparantly caused by a group of young children playing with matches.

January 17, 2061 = The first two floors of the Renraku Arcology were secured today by UCAS Special Forces.

January 18, 2061 = Two Trolls were arested this morning in connection with the tourist attcks on January 7. Both Trolls claim to have no connection with the Spikes gang.

January 19, 2061 = Bernard Cross was recalled from Cross Advanced Electronics in Seattle Metroplex, UCAS back to Montreal, Quebec for gross incompetence.

January 20, 2061 = Political favorite Jason Rockafeller, who was bidding for the Everett Mayorship next year, was killed in a bombing in downtown Everett this morning. The Sons of Sauron took credit for the act, claiming Rockafeller was, "A Humanis pig."

January 21, 2061 = Graffiti littered downtown Seattle, claiming "The third shall sound."

January 22, 2061 = Dadson Vision Entertainments was raided this morning as part of a Lone Star sting to crack down on BTL smuggling. Over 40,000 BTL's were discovered. The executive VP committed suicide before Lone Star was able to bring him into custody.

January 23, 2061 = Power went out, riots exploded. Thousands were injured, hundreds were geeked, and the cost of repairs is into the billions of nuyen. Only one company is happy about the cituation, Shiawase. No comment from Gaeatronics.

January 24, 2061 = Still no power, guess not much of a chance of someone reading this today. Lone Star and the Metropolex Guard were out in full force enforcing a curfew.

January 25, 2061 = Powers back. The Corps and syndicates poured money into businesses to rebuild much of the distrucion.

January 26, 2061 = A brown out occured on the west side of Renton. Power was out for nearly four hours. Gaeatronics commented that the black out was sabatoge and it's still trying to wrestle control of their systems.

January 27, 2061 = The Yellow Lotus Triad and the Chosen Ring went to war today in eastern Snohomish. The fighting occured when Chosen Ring members entered a Yellow Lotus establishment and demanded protection money. Three Chosen Ring members died.

January 28, 2061 = The Blood Mountain Boys and the 405 Hellhounds clashed in southern Bellevue. The two gangs split when Lone Star showed up. Two Boys and Four Hounds were geeked.

January 29, 2061 = The Pit, a bar in the Puyallup barrens, held it's annual amatuer fight night. At the end of the night was Mondo a Bear Shifter, who will continue on to the pros. Another fight broke out between a group of runners and a guy named Puck.

January 30, 2061 = Another brown out, this time in southern Tacoma and parts of northern Ft. Lewis.

January 31, 2061 = The Razor Heads and The Princes went to war today in Puyallup. The Razor Heads claimed The Princes kidnapped their Seattle leader, Gash.

February 1, 2061 = TerraFirst! claimed responsibility for a bombimg in Auburn. The target was Bowman Metal Works. Bowman spokesperson Adam Dadin said the damage was minimal.

February 2, 2061 = Many nightclubs, including Dante's Inferno, announced plans to hold a "comet party" to welcome Halley's Comet. Most of the parties are planned for September 9th, the first naked eye viewing of the Comet.

February 3, 2061 = A small turf skirmish between the Red Rovers and the Double Devils errupted in Everett. The Rovers lost eight, the DD's only 4, but rumor has it, the DD's had outside help.

February 4, 2061 = A warehouse complex in Snohomish was attacked twice today, first by a small group of men. Then the Razor Head Gang attacked the same complex one hour later. Lone Star was at the scene when the gang arrived, but was quickly overwhelmed. When LS back up arrived, all six guards and four Lone Star officers were geeked.

February 5, 2061 = Another brown out, this time in Auburn. Only lasted four hours.

February 6, 2061 = The third floor of the Renraku Arcology was secured today by UCAS special forces.

February 7, 2061 = Today, in Quebec, French was declared the only legal business language.

February 8, 2061 = The UCAS government announced a joint mission with Ares Macrotechnology to deploy a massive infrastructure upgrade to the Hubble II space telescope uplink and data distribution systems due to the demand for images of Halley's Comet overwhelming its systems. A new mirror site will also be brought online in Hong Kong to answer the unexpected demand from Asia.

February 9, 2061 = Another brownout, this time in southern Tacoma. A small riot errupted, but was quickly put down by Lone Star.

February 10, 2061 = Two Redmond Barren gangs went to war today, the Rusted Stilettos and the Red Hot Nukes. The war started when the Nukes planted a bomb in a Stiletto car, killing three Stillettos.

February 11, 2061 = The Double Devils, in Everett, were nearly wiped out by the Red Rovers today. The Double Devils hideout was attacked by twenty six Red Rovers in retalliation for an earlier skirmish. Sixteen of the DDs died in the surprise attack, at the cost of nine Rovers.

February 12, 2061 = Tokugawa Technologies, an A-level corporation based out of San Francisco and Tokyo, was destroyed as a corporate entity by an unexpected hostile takeover initiated by unknown parties.

February 13, 2061 = In Calgary, Algonkian-Manitou Council, NAN a terrorist car bomb destroyed the supports of the Aztechnology headquarters building. About two thousand Aztechnology employees were killed as well as Civil Chief Bobby Bear and War Chief Carl Hillborn, who were meeting with Aztechnology executives at the time of the blast.

February 14, 2061 = The Tacoma Mothers of Metahumanity (MOM) re-opened it's doors. Last year a fire burned the place to the ground.

February 15, 2061 = An unidentified man was walking the streets of downtown carrying a large white cross, with the words repent on the top, and was attacked by a group of Disassemblers. Lone Star wasn't called until ten minutes after the attack. The man died of his injuries before LS arrived.

February 16, 2061 = In Renton a group of Night Hunters attacked a family of Trolls traveling to Bob's arcade and family fun center. The Trolls were not geeked, but all had tattoos of the Night Hunters symbol tattooed on their newly shaved heads.

February 17, 2061 = A bomb was discovered near the Bellingham, Salish-Shidhe capital building this morning. The bomb did not explode and investigators are looking into the incident.

February 18, 2061 = A severe drought is plaguing the Ute Nation.

February 19, 2061 = Novatech began construction of the Olympia Lunar Base.

February 20, 2061 = In Everett, a large wave pushed a small boat into a house today. The boat was a small five-meter speed boat idling near the shore, when a twenty-five foot wave seeming came from nowhere and shoved the boat into a house near the beach. Initial reports puts damage into the hundreds of thousands of nuyen.

February 21, 2061 = An accident along highway 99 claimed one life today. A school bus collided with a dunk driver at 9AM this morning. The school bus flipped onto its side and started burning. The bus driver was able to climb through her open window and started helping children to escape the wreckage. Traffic built up and slowed emergency response crews. Many of the children escaped from the bus, but it was quickly discovered that there where three children still inside of the burning wreck. Brad Johnson, a local restaurant dishwasher, ran from his car at the bus driver’s panicked cries. At hearing her wails about children inside, he squeezed through the buses rear emergency hatch and helped the last three children escape through open windows. Brad was too large to fit through one of the open windows. As Brad made his way through the flames back to the rear of the bus, the bus exploded, killing him. Only minor injuries were reported by the children and driver. The drunk driver, Eric Keillor, was unharmed. Brad leaves behind a wife and two small children.

February 22, 2061 = Governor Lindstrom announced a day of mourning for Brad Johnson. Governor Lindstrom went on to say that, "We could all learn a lesson from Brad Johnson's heroic effort."

February 23, 2061 = A group of comet fanatics marched on Capitol Hill carrying signs proclaiming "the end" and "See Comet, Then Die".

February 24, 2061 = Eric Keillor was beaten to death by other inmates at the Downtown County Jail. Lone Star announced that the death is under investigation.

February 25, 2061 = An anti-Salish-Shidhe demonstration was held in Kitimat, Tsimshian's capital. The demonstration drew nearly two thousand.

February 26, 2061 = The cost of a magic user license just went up today. A sly bill that passed most of the publics eye, raised the MUL from 40¥ to 100¥.

February 27, 2061 = Cross Applied Technologies announced today that, "Mrs. Johnson and her children will be provided for." I'm sure this wasn't a PR blitz by Cross and they actually want to help out of the goodness of their hearts.

February 28, 2061 = The fourth floor was secured this morning by UCAS Special Forces. 12 hostages were rescued.

March 1, 2061 = Aileen MacQueen, daughter of Ian MacQeen, a Mitsuhama research scientist who specialized in magical research, was kidnapped from her Bellevue home this morning. Aileen is 11. Lone Star has no suspects in the kidnapping (No matter what they say).

March 2, 2061 = A blackout in downtown Seattle is promised to be the last, by Geatronics. In the cover of darkness, a samll independent medical research facility was burned to the ground, Neuranalysis.

March 3, 2061 = In Essen, Germany, rumors abound of an unexplained incident at the Saeder-Krupp Ruhr arcology. Speculation connects the event with Dunkelzahn’s assassination.

March 4, 2061 = In Quesnel, Tsimshian an anti-Salish-Shidhe demonsration nearly turned into a riot when a group of Slaish tourists walked by the demonstration area. The tourists where detained and sent back to Salish-Shidhe territory.

March 5, 2061 = The Ale'i Menatis, a group which preaches that certain people are reborn members of the Atlantean culture, opens its doors.

March 6, 2061 = Ronald Stipe, host of Battle Drones, was charged this morning with second degree rape of a child, accused of having sex in 2059, with a then 13 year old girl.

March 7, 2061 = An earthquake in Albania kills 12 and wounds hundreds more.

March 8, 2061 = 2 teens in Everett were arrested after their cars collided in a street race.

March 9, 2061 = Officials in Tacoma are upset with Western State Hospital officials after the brief escape of a patient registered as a Level 3 sex offender.

March 10, 2061 = Lone Star arrested Juliane Linsey, a teacher at Puget Jr High School, after she was reported selling drugs to her students.

March 11, 2061 = A man was arrested after spray painting Downtown Lone Star headquarters with Comet grafitti.

March 12, 2061 = A 17-year-old found carrying a loaded Ares Predator at Evergreen High School was charged today with unlawful possession of a firearm.

March 13, 2061 = Jan Drucus, an official with Wuxing Inc., was appointed to the Board of Debeers-Omnitech.

March 14, 2061 = Lone Star Officers who went to a home to investigate a rape report instead found the frozen carcasses of about 50 dogs and cats in freezers.

March 15, 2061 = One person died and five others have been treated at a hospital in an apartment building fire here early today in Downtown Seattle.

March 16, 2061 = Two Men were shot and killed by UCAS Military Police outside of the Everett Naval Shipyards this morning. The two men were part of a group of four breaking into the yards for unknown reasons.

March 17, 2061 = The body of a man clad in shorts was pulled from the Skykomish River in Snohomish. The man was reported as Bo Caesar, 36, of Auburn.

March 18, 2061 = A fire engulfed Lakewood apartments in Downtown Seattle this morning. The Seattle Fire Department stated that it was clearly arson.

March 19, 2061 = In Berlin, AGS, Mitsuhama Computer Technologies sponsored a massive benefit concert as part of a multinational world tour and featured some of the hottest bands and performers ever. The concert was called Ragnarock, the Concert of the Century. The event was a huge success and culminated with the appearance of two giant spectral dragons fighting in mid air over the stage. Strangely enough, the dragons were not a planned part of the show and nobody can explain where they came from. 

March 20, 2061 = In Tacoma, a UCAS military envoy was attack by a group of unknown individuals. All eleven of the militay personal were killed and their cargo stolen. Lone Star has several suspects. The UCAS military refused comment.

March 21, 2061 = Explosions rocked Pullyup this morning, when Tin Man Scrap works, a local scrap yard, was blown up. Lone Star has not investigated.

March 22, 2061 = Lone Star is searching for a murder suspect after a man was found shot to death in his car early this morning. The victim's car, a newer black Lexus, was run off the road and onto the sidewalk.

March 23, 2061 = Mariah Miler,a spokeperson for the UCAS Military announced that the envoy attack was the actions of the terrorist group TerraFirst! Mrs. Miler explained that TerraFirst! believed that the military was hauling a terrorist crimminal.

March 24, 2061 = A retired 20-year Lone Star deputy was charged with threatening to geek his wife, two children and sister-in-law. William Frederick Jensen was in jail on a felony harassment charge when he hatched a murder plot with another inmate. The other inmate told Lone Star officials, who caught Jenson setting up the details.

March 25, 2061 = The North American Drone Football League started its first season today.

March 26, 2061 = The Senate and House met today to discuss a possible increase in sales tax. Governor Lindstrom has stated that he would oppose any tax increases.

March 27, 2061 = A group of comet choobs blocked off Denny Way, near Seattle Center, protesting the "lack of respect for the comet." Lone Star arrested six of the protesters for public disturbance.

March 28, 2061 = A group of Disassemblers attacked and killed a group of CalFree tourists on their way to Sea Tec. The Disassemblers took the bodies with them. Lone Star has vowed justice for the tourists.

March 29, 2061 = A group of Tsimshian terrorists attempted to run the road block onto Council Island, the terrorists van was destroyed and all four terrorists killed. Tsimshian officals have delcard that the terrorists were, "In no way involved with the Tsimshian government."

March 30, 2061 = A group of Troll Killers and Bloddy Screamers clashed near the southern edge of Lake Union. What both gangs were doing so far from their respective territories is unknown.

March 31, 2061 = At his home in Renton, Edward Cornheld and other suits were taken hostage by a group of bourgies. The Star was on the scene in minutes and began negotiations. After four hours a LS SWAT team entered the home. All six bourgies, 1 suit and 1 LS officer were takin' dirt naps.

April 1, 2061 = In Bellevue, the "Green Meadows" restaurant, the "Aristo" nightclub and the "Lakeland Social Club" all located in a 5 block area at the heart of the Lakeland district were victims of firebomb attacks by parties unknown. The FBI Organized Crime Taskforce in Seattle chose to announce that all the targeted locations were under surveillance by the FBI due to suspected connections to the Bigio crime family. 

April 2, 2061 = Some suits of Federated Boeing have announced that the company will be laying off 200 workers from its various Seattle facilities in order to "cut overhead and downsize non-essential production lines".

April 3, 2061 = The FBI arrested 9 men who are believed to be the perpatrators in the firebomb attacks on April 1st. All 9 men have connections to the Yakuza.

April 4, 2061 = Renraku announced that the Renraku Arcology situation has been, "resolved." Renraku America division manager Dr. Sherman Huang was given direct credit for resolving the crisis. Renraku programmers Cham Lam Won and Vanessa Cliber were given secondary credit.
The Renraku Corporation announced that CEO Inezo Aneki is dead. No details were given as to how he died. 

April 5, 2061 = Lone Star responded to a shoot out at the Lotus resturant in Bellevue. During the investigation they uncovered a massive drug lab hidden in the basement of the resturant. All employees of the Lotus were detained by the Star for questioning.

April 6, 2061 = Snohomish, the bronze arrested two men after they allegedly tried to hijack a Metro bus. Authorities say the pair boarded the coach at the downtown park-and-ride Wednesday night, where they were overheard planning the crime. A rider called 911, and the star arrived just as the bus was pulling away. They shadowed the coach and were advised the suspects were armed and planned to rob commuters. When the Star thought they saw the men hide something under their seats, they stopped the bus with weapons drawn and arrested the suspects.

April 7, 2061 = A Tacoma man was fatally shot during an argument outside an East Side apartment complex. No arrests or possible motives have been reported in the death of Lester Shaquel, 35.

April 8, 2061 = A newly formed Lone Star unit has made its first arrest. The Auburn Violent Crimes Task Force arrested a man wanted on suspicion of homicide in Downtown Seattle, Lone Star's Auburn spokesman Ed Troyer said. 

April 9, 2061 = In Renton, a family of five narrowly escaped an early morning house fire by jumping from a second-story window. The fire started just before 5 o'clock in the morning at the house on 26th and 179th Avenue Northeast. Lone Star arrested George Board, a comet choob, who was seen fleeing the scene.

April 10, 2061 = Tonight Tacoma felt the ugly threat of terrorism when two unidentified individuals left an unmarked delivery van sitting outside of De Cleary’s restaurant. No injuries were reported and only minor damage was done to the facility. The Star is wondering if the assailants knew how to use the explosives.

April 11, 2061 = In Auburn a 17-year-old girl was found dead this afternoon in her home and her father was arrested shortly afterward.

April 12, 2061 = In Puget Sound a deckhand fell from the Seattle-based F/V Shaman yesterday afternoon and was recovered unconscious when two fellow crewmen donned survival suits and jumped into the water to save him. He was later pronounced dead by DocWagon officials.

April 13, 2061 = Samuel Geise was arrested today after cracking into the Geatronics LTG to forge his bill being paid. The man was detained by Geatronics deckers and tracked to his home in Tacoma.

April 14, 2061 = One man was taken to a hospital and one man was arrested after a stabbing on a Downtown waterfront. An officer was flagged down shortly after 7 a.m. near Alaska Way and Washington Street where the suspect was taken into custody. Medics took the 31-year-old victim to Harborview Medical Center.

April 15, 2061 = Some comet crazies started a party early that got 14 people arrested. 2 seniors at Washington University may not graduate after a comet party that started in their dorm room.

April 16, 2061 = The son of the head of the Seattle Corrections Department has pleaded guilty to child molestation in an agreement that could spare him from prison time. He'll serve six months in jail, receive at least three years of treatment for sexual deviancy and be under lifetime corrections supervision.

April 17, 2061 = The Kirin, a japanese resturant in Tacoma was attacked by four armed men. 16 people were killed in the attack. During the investigation, Lone Star discovered a secret back entrance into a brothel. The brothel's "employees" and patrons were nowhere to be found.

April 18, 2061 = Today three regular posters to Shadowland, and an associate, were killed while on an away job in Tampa Bay, CAS. They were killed by Geyswain, a dragon. The dragon vanished shortly afterward. Also, the entire buildings workforce was found dead in the uppermost floor of the building, along with some Tir and Aztlan troops.

April 19, 2061 = Lone Star estimate 450,000¥ worth of computer and electronics equipment was stolen in a burglary at Edmunds Instruments in Snohomish.

April 20, 2061 = In Auburn, Traveling south on West Valley, an automated delivery truck struck Jessica Ellender while she legally crossed the intersection with 15th street. The truck, owned by Quint's Shrimp, was traveling in excess of 100 kilometers per hour when it collided with the motorist sending them both into the south wall. Jessica died instantly according to the coroner. Lone Star began an investigation that has quickly led to suspicions of renewed, if subdued, gang violence. Evidence suggests that Jessica Ellender may have been a member of the Ancients gang. Further evidence pointes to intentional tampering of the delivery truck. Those discoveries prompted investigators to upgrade the crash from accidental to murder.

April 21, 2061 = Horror struck Paris Heights neighborhood of Bellevue early this morning when Lenny Carey, a member of the cleaning staff of the Clarion Breaks condominium, found the brutally savaged body of Karen Walters in her 2-room flat. All the evidence and the state of the corpse indicate this is the 13th victim of the notorious serial killer Louis Gardner, and Lone Star continues to follow the investigations into the crimes of this infamous decker and murderer.

April 22, 2061 = A runaway car rolled over Professor Paul Navarro as he was leaving his apartment in Downtown Seattle. Despite paramedical efforts, Professor Navarro was pronounced DOA at Seattle General. He was 79 years old. Professor Navarro was a leading figure in Seattle's early Metahuman Rights movement. He taught Ethics and Law 101 at the University of Washington, being a respected senior member of the faculty. A funeral service is planned at the Ravenna Necroplex. 

April 23, 2061 = In Tacoma, a 24-year-old man who won a fistfight was later stabbed to death in a trailer park by the older man he had beaten. A 47-year-old man was arrested and placed under guard at a hospital, where he was being treated Sunday for serious injuries from the fight. Witnesses said the younger man was drinking with the older man before the two got into a fight early this morning at a mobile home park. After being badly beaten, the older man reportedly went home, got a knife and stabbed the younger man to death. 

April 24, 2061 = Cory Harman, in Renton was arrested while leaving a church after his wedding. Lone Star charged the man with seven counts of armed robbery and sixteen counts of breaking and entering, as well as burglary. Lone Star officials said the man was a shadowrunner.

April 25, 2061 = An 18-year-old Tacoma woman who went missing early Sunday from a party after arguing with her boyfriend was found dead yesterday, submerged in the Stuck River insider her car.

April 26, 2061 = A shadowrunner called Jitters was killed yesterday after a shoot out at the Rubber Suit in Everett. The Yakuza discovered he was working for the Mafia.

April 27, 2061 = A Tacoma City Council member was arrested at a brothel. Lone Star entered the suspected brother and found Councilman Kerry lying on top of a dead prostitute. Initial reports found the whore was strangled to death.

April 28, 2061 = Councilman Kerry was stabbed today, while in Jail. After Kerry and Cham Lam Cho started arguing, Cho pulled a homemade knife and stabbed Kerry repeatedly in the chest and stomach. Kerry was rushed to Doctor's Hospital, where he was pronounced DOA.

April 29, 2061 = The CCMA created a new Matrix policing agency in response to the Renraku Arcology situation and grid shutdowns, called the Grid Overwatch Division (GOD).

April 30, 2061 = A woman's body was found today in the Pilchuck River, Snohomish. She was identified as Lesley Walker, 37. No arrests have been made.

May 1, 2061 = Streets were temporarily closed all over Bellevue due to flash flooding in the area.

May 2, 2061 = Today, the Tsimshian Nation and the Salish-Shidhe Nation went to war over unknown reasons. Some claim that it is over possession of a recently discovered ley line. Others state that the ley line is toxic and the Salish-Shidhe Council is trying to destroy it. The Tsimshian Nation struck first and pushed down into the area of Okanagan Lake and the city of Keelowna.

May 3, 2061 = The Salish-Shidhe forces rallied and forced the Tsimshian back at the Battle of Revelstoke.

May 4, 2061 = Thousands of Salish-Shidhe soldiers and civilians as well as some Tsimshian soldiers were killed by unknown causes. Some claim that a biowarfare agent was used. Others state that Tsimshian mages harnessed the ley lines supercharged by Halley's Comet and use them to create ultra-powerful stunballs. Many of those who survived the battle suffered massive, irreparable neurological damage.

May 5, 2061 = The Salish-Shidhe Nation drafted a cease-fire accord with the Tsimshian Nation.

May 6, 2061 = Lone Star shot and geeked two runners as they fled the scene of a breaking and entering.

May 7, 2061 = In Everett, the Double Devils made a surprise come back when they attacked a group of Red Rovers outside a Starbucks resturant. The Double Devils, who were thought to be dead, spray painted DD on the eight bodies.

May 8, 2061 = A comet party, in Auburn turned violent today. A private resident threw a comet party that lasted into the early hours of the morning. When a neighbor, Justin Wilkins, asked them to turn their music off, the party goers responded by beating the man and throwing him back onto his lawn. Wilkins returned a few minutes later with a shotgun and geeked seven party goers. When the Bronze arrived, Wilkins gave up without a fight.

May 9, 2061 = Lone Star is searching for a man who opened fire on a day care facility in Kent, Tacoma. This morning a human who was described as mid twenties, short brown hair, about 6 feet tall; walked into Tiny Tots Day Care and opened fire. Two of the facility workers were geeked. No children were killed, but five children were treated for minor injuries.

May 10, 2061 = John Wheeler, a member of a Richmond gang, tried to pull a gun when he saw rival gang members approaching. It went off accidentally, wounding him in the buttock and thigh.
 
May 11, 2061 = Nick Osborne attacked a Lone Star patrol car, pushing it into shadow lake, Snohomish. Both Lone Star Officers drowned.

May 12, 2061 = Everett, Lone Star Officers asked Christopher Holden if he would like to take anything from his car before they took him to the station to be booked on motor vehicle charges last night. Police said he pulled a one-pound bag of marijuana out of the trunk. Holden, 21, now faces charges of possession of the drug, with intent to distribute.

May 13, 2061 = Eric Nelson was sighted in the Aurora Village Mall. Lone Star baracaded all, but two of the Mall's exits. The Bronze then evacuated the confused shoppers. A Lone Star SWAT team entered the building. An hour later, UCAS Military Police arrived and found the Star's SWAT team dead, near their entrance. After a six hour search, it was discovered that Nelson had escaped through a small ventilation shaft.

May 14, 2061 = A huge fire fight errupted between the Ancients and an unmarked security force. The Ancients managed to geek all 27 members of the security force and escape before Lone Star arrived. Witnesses claim to have seen three individualds initiate the fight, before the Ancients arrived.

May 15, 2061 = Governer Linstrom Annouced a .32% sales tax increase today.

May 16, 2061 = Charles Jones was arrested today by FBI agents. Jones is a shadowrunner by the name of Red Dog. His charge? Tax evasion.

May 17, 2061 = From Snohomish comes the story of the Rizno gang who thought they had a foolproof plan to rob an armored car. One of the Riznos dressed up as a woman and was walking up to the armored car while pushing a stroller. His disguise was so good that some nearby construction workers started whistling at him. The ganger got so mad that he grabbed the shotgun hidden in the baby carriage and threatened the construction workers with it. The security guards shot and geeked the ganger.

May 18, 2061 = Saundra Woods was arrested this morning in Auburn. She ran down several streets naked with a hanger on her head screaming, "The end is here!"

May 19, 2061 = Gareth Davies, of Auburn was arrested today when he took a dead body into a bank to withdrawl money from the dead man's account. The teller realized that the man was dead, when Davies refused to wake him to sign papers. The teller then contacted Lone Star.

May 20, 2061 = In Tacoma, Benji Radach III was shopping at a local Nybbles & Bytes, looking for a new simdeck, when Russel Rogers entered holding a pistol. Rogers demanded some high end products be brought to him from behind the counter. Radach took off his jacket and snuck up behind Rogers. While Rogers was busing shouting at employees, Radach grabbed Rogers with a wrist lock and forced him to drop his pistol. Radach forced Roger's hands to his back and pushed him chest-first to the ground. Radach then knocked Rogers unconscious with a blow to the head. I guess Russel didn't recognize Benji without his uniform. Benji Radach III plays the Brawler position for the Tacoma Wings Urban Brawl Team.

May 21, 2061 = Paul Russell, a 33-year-old Auburn man faces charges that he bit a Lone Star dog during a disturbance outside a downtown bar. "I don't think I bit the dog. I just got into a fight with him," Russell said. "I don't really remember what happened. I was pretty drunk." The incident occurred when Officer Foster and his dog, a German shepherd named Renny, were sent to investigate a disturbance at 10 p.m. outside a bar outside Seattle Center. According to Lone Star reports, Russell grabbed Renny by the throat and started choking the animal and biting it on the left side of his neck. After the arrest, Renny was taken to a veterinarian. Lone Star officials said Renny would be fine.

May 22, 2061 = The Red Rovers went on a killing spree today in a planned attack against the Double Devils, in response to the May 7th attack. When they arrived at the Double Devils former hideout, they were greeted with tripwires and booby traps. Inraged, the Red Rovers attacked several bystandards in the area. Two Rovers were geeked, along with six bystandards.

May 23, 2061 = The Bar Fly, a popular "male entertainment establishment" (read: Strip Club) will be closing it's doors. The Bar Fly suffered severe set backs last month when it was purchased by Bruce Dunstan, the former Bartender. Dunstan proved less popular with the business minded patrons (read: Yakuza). The Bar Fly suffered severe losses (read: sabatage) and could not recover.

May 24, 2061 = Two Lone Star officials were on a stakeout in Everett when two teenage males decided to steal their van. The two males smashed through the driver side window while the two officiers were in the rear of the vehicle. The officiers stayed quiet while the youths  hijacked the vehicles code box. When the two males had started the van, one of the Lone Star officers shouted, "Hey!" The two teens ran, but were quickly captured.

May 25, 2061 = Lone Star raised it's reward for information leading to the capture of "Ice Man" MacDonald. This annouced moments after the assassination of Taiki Yoshikuni, Mayor Eva Pratt's assistant.

May 26, 2061 = In Snohomish, An ork and human, both teens, who were romantically involved, were attacked today by a group of human teens. The teens beat the ork boy severely. The human girl was killed in the attack and traitor was painted accross her body. Mayor Feddersen called the attack an "outrage" and said "These types of crimes must be stopped!"

May 27, 2061 = On the opposite end from yesterday, The Ragers attacked a family of humans who were shopping near the Tacoma docks. The family was stabbed and beaten. They were taken to UMI Hospital were they were pronunced DOA.

May 28, 2061 = Saeder-Krupp's Duccio probe was destroyed just a few hours after launch when it supposedly strayed into an Ares Macrotechnology test zone and was shot down during a routine test of anti-satellite laser weapons. Ares claimed that they did not know the probe was there because Saeder-Krupp kept the craft's launch and trajectory a secret. Saeder-Krupp counters with a claim that Ares intentionally shot the probe down and seeks redress from the Corporate Court. Ares offered an apology and an undisclosed sum of money which Saeder-Krupp refused.

May 29, 2061 = News went public of S-K's Duccio probe. Damien Knight issued an official apology to Saeder-Krupp. The Corporate Court ruled in favor of Ares and backed the settlement as a resolution.

May 30, 2061 = Auburn was racked with violence when a group of Yakuza attacked a Mafia-Controlled Trucking Company. In response, later in the afternoon, the Mafia bombed a Yakuza run brothel. Both instances have the death toll in the teens.

May 31, 2061 = Anne Kidef was involved in a brutal bombing of a downtown Federated Boeing facility. The large bomb was delivered to the building by a flower delivery man. Once the flowers reached their intended target, the bomb exploded, killing the delivery man as well as seven office personel. Kidef claimed responsibility for the attack stating: "Federated Boeing is a major contributor to the destruction of the world's eco system". Federated Boeing is investigating how the bomb got through the MAD detectors.

June 1, 2061 = Larry "The Squid" Gonsalez was arrested today on an anonymous tip. He was attacked in his sleep by Lone Star officers and taken without incident.

June 2, 2061 = Larry "The Squid" Gonsalez escaped from a Lone Star Facility last night. He geeked two guards during his escape. In response, Lone Star increased the reward for any information leading to his capture.

June 3, 2061 = In Tir Tairngire, a number of citizens requested permission from the government to hold observances of the passing of Haley's Comet from Tesetelinestea, the island in the center of Crater Lake. Their requests were refused.

June 4, 2061 = The Troll Killers gang attacked a meta-owned Stuffer Shack in downtown. The gang members trashed the store and wounded four metahuman employees. All four employees were taken to an undisclosed hospital, where they've been reported in critical condition.

June 5, 2061 = Deadbolt, Yorick, Helios, Arbiter, The Rose, and Gator were all geeked in a run against the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Ares had no comment on the situation.

June 6, 2061 = Alejandro Federigi was sighted outside Matchstick's. When Lone Star arrived, Federigi was gone, but two bodies were found on the scene. The victims identities have not been released.

June 7, 2061 = A would-be thief in Tacoma intended to use duct tape to bind a family and then rob them. Bad plan. Some good citizens heard their teen-aged neighbor screaming after the choob busted into the home. They went to investigate and found a girl and her grandmother struggling with the choob. The neighbors used the choob's own duct tape to attach him securely to a utility pole until Lone Star arrived. 

June 8, 2061 = A fight broke out at the Battle Toads concert, around 1 AM this morning. The fight started between two men when one took the others dumpweed. It errupted into a near-riot before Lone Star arrived. Twelve people were taken to the hospital for injuries.

June 9, 2061 = Information has leaked that the Dragon Geyswain was killed in Wales a few days ago. The Great Dragon Rhonabwy is responsible and attempted to cover up the death. Don't expect to see this on Trid News chums.

June 10, 2061 = Governor Lindstrom annouced an increase in Hovercraft registration and licensing fees.

June 11, 2061 = At the Spindle orbital habitat, a fuel line ruptured and leaked accelerant which ignited and caused a small explosion. The explosion destroyed the launch engines of the Kepler probe less than an hour before its intended launch time. The probe was quickly disentangled from the launch engines, but not before it suffers significant damage to its sensor and telemetry systems. Officials of Aztechnology, Federated Boeing, and Shibata Construction and Engineering state that the probe is repairable, but it will not be able to be launched in time for Halley's Comet's first pass around Earth. A new launch time is scheduled to intercept the Comet on its second pass.

June 12, 2061 = The Nighthunters attacked a group of supporters for MOM (Mothers of Metahumanity) in Renton. Fifteen Hunters attacked a group of four humans and eight metas. The metas were beaten and spray painted orange. The humans were geeked.

June 13, 2061 = In Factoria, Bellevue, The Leather Devils and 405 Hellhounds had a clash. In Bellevue fashion, no gang members were geeked.

June 14, 2061 = No official news source will tell you, but one of Cross Applied Technologies' top scientists was extracted from it's Downtown Seattle office building. The word is the scienist headed the biotechnology department.

June 15, 2061 = In Redmond, the Komun' Go Ring attacked a Yakuza run brothel in Woodinville area. The chicas were all spared (probably taken to a Komun' Go run brothel), but six Yakuza were geeked.

June 16, 2061 = In Bellevue, a Yakuza run restaurant was attacked by a group of unidentified men (read: shadowrunners). Four men burst inside, just as the restaurant was openning. All eight employees were geeked and the men planted explosives around the kitchen and dining areas. The explosion damaged nearby buildings, but no one else was injured.

June 17, 2061 = In Oswiecim, Poland, the ghosts of Auschwitz Poland are becoming stronger and are able to bypass the spirit barrier. Breakouts are becoming more and more common. 

June 18, 2061 = In Cairnes, Australia, a comet-worshiping terrorist group called the Cataclysts seized control of the semiballistic that was intended to carry the Brahe probe into orbit shortly before its scheduled launch. The terrorists infiltrated the Normanton launch site, geeked the crew, and commandeered control of the vessel. Security unsuccessfully attempted to avert the takeoff. Shortly after takeoff, a massive explosion destroyed the probe and all on board. The Cataclysts delivered a press release shortly after, claiming that they intended to accompany the probe to the comet, but that Shiawase shot the craft down with a surface-to-air missile. Shiawase refuted the claim, pointing out that the probe was incapable of carrying passengers and further claim that the terrorists themselves destroyed the probe with a bomb.

June 19, 2061 = A parking garage was attacked in downtown Seattle. Witnesses report seeing a drone flying around the area at the time of the attack. Parking Garage cameras picked up a fleeing Cadillac Pyrotechnic, as well as three people on foot. A destoryed motorcycle was recovered from the scene with an illegal transponder chip installed. Lone Star has made no arrests.

June 20, 2061 = Saeder-Krupp purchased Barytech this morning in a surprise move. Barytech is a small Genetech research facility. Saeder-Krupp announced it's purchase at the openning of the Berlin Stck Exchange.

June 21, 2061 = An Ork cab driver and Ork teen were attacked in Snohmish, near Redmond. The attackers seemed to be a humanis group. The cabbie and teen were taken to Bellevue State Hospital, both in critical condition.

June 22, 2061 = Downtown Seattle, Dennis Newton was on trial for the armed robbery of a convenience store when he decided to fire his attorney. Seattle District Attorney said Newton was doing a decent job until the store manage testified that Newton was indeed the robber. Newton jumped up, accused the woman of lying and then said, " I should have blown your fraggin' head off" The defendant paused then added "If I had been the one that was there." The jury deliberated for twenty minutes before returning a verdict of guilty and recommended a sentence of thirty years.

June 23, 2061 = In the UCAS, a massive smuggling ring specializing in awakened animals was broken when the Coast Guard captured a boat caught in a storm. Inside are a dozen blackberry cats. The cats used their powers to force the Coast Guard officers to take them ashore where they escaped into the local landscape.

June 24, 2061 = Worldwide, reports are starting to circulate of buildings and other structures spontaneously appearing out of thin air.

June 25, 2061 = In Europe, Sol Media Group acquired exclusive rights to Dutch group Endemol Entertainment and merged with Italian media corporation Fininvest.

June 26, 2061 = SimSinn Studios announced that production will soon start for a full length feature sim of Karl Kombatmage. The studio is planning for a summer '63 release.

June 27, 2061 = In Tacoma, a 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly ordering a stranger to fix his truck at gunpoint.

June 28, 2061 = In Miami, South Florida, Caribbean League, the Gunderson Corporation has come under financial attack by unknown parties. First, their TransSea subsidiary suffered a loss of the majority of its overseas clients. Then Wallid Materials, which had recently come under new ownership divests itself of all materials created by Montclair Industries, Gunderson's manufacturing divisions.

June 29, 2061 = In Everett, a family of Trolls were killed when their home was set ablaze at 1 AM. When the family attempted to flee the burning home, they were ruthlessly gunned down by an unknown group using AK-97's. Mayor Combs spoke shortly after the incident calling for aid in capturing the group responsible and calling the group, "Cowards and criminals of the worst sort." The family included a man (26), woman (23), and 2 children (3 & 1).

June 30, 2061 = Shadow Rat, a shadowrunner, was shot and geeked by Knight Errant officers while breaking into the Knight Errant Seattle Training Academy. At least two other people were reported fleeing the scene.

July 1, 2061 = A group calling themselves "Dawn of the Comet" protested near Metroplex Hall, claiming the government isn't taking the comet threat seriously. The group claims when the comet passes the Earth it will spread "cosmic radiation", triggering severe mutations in all living things.

July 2, 2061 = Eight men were geeked as they attempted to enter Novatech's Formosa Bay space launch facility. The group was unidentified at the time of report.

July 3, 2061 = Jason Wolfe infiltrated a Lone Star facility, geeked six LS personel and escaped with valuable information.

July 4, 2061 = A group of people threw a 4th of July celebration today causing a large disturbance. A group hung an old United States of America flag outside their property which caused a large stir. A fight broke out between neighbors when the group started bad mouthing the UCAS in front of the crowd. Their were no deaths, only minor injuries.

July 5, 2061 = Ares announced today that the launch of the Velox I and Velox II probes will be delayed until December due to "nessary adjustments".

July 6, 2061 = Lone Star increased the reward for information leading to the capture of Gabe Montgomery. No indication was given why. Knight Errant also announced a reward for information leading to his capture.

July 7, 2061 = Snohomish, a 56 year old Edmonds woman who intentionally crashed her sport-utility vehicle through a metal door at the Snohomish County Jail early this morning is being held in lieu of 1,000¥ bail.The woman claimed she was trying to escape from the Mafia. Officers declined to say whether the woman was receiving mental-health care.

July 8, 2061 = A federal prosecutor yesterday accused a Salish lawyer of abusing his position by gaining access to a woman prisoner at the Federal Detention Center, then threatening and intimidating her. The woman is a witness in a large drug case.

July 9, 2061 = Bellevue, Juan Domingo, a restaurant worker, killed his co-worker as the result of a heated argument over how to put silverware into a dishwasher.

July 10, 2061 = Stockpot Soups, whose plant prompted years of complaints over sour odors, is moving with the help of millions in public money. In a deal announced today, Tacoma will pay the Universal Omnitech subsidiary as much as 23.45¥ million to move away from the city's Brightwater sewage-treatment plant.

July 11, 2061 = A 23 year old man who died early this morning in Bellevue was apparently the victim of an accidental shooting. A block away Lone Star discovered another man who had committed suicide. It seems when the man shot himself in the head the bullet continued through three walls and struck the other man. The victim has been reported as "The Unluckiest Man, Ever."

July 12, 2061 = In Renton, a pair of carjackers went on a robbery spree yesterday, stealing one car, kidnapping its owner and attempting to rob at least one other man. One street was road blocked to get the car to stop. Lone Star snipers geeked both men as the ran from the car.

July 13, 2061 = Ares announced today that their costly Gigas probe was struck by a meteorite, coming within inches of destruction. Ares officials have said that they are adjusting the probes's trajectory to account for the disturbance and it will be on track for an intercept of Halley's Comet on it's second pass.
Ares is unlikely to win the highly publicized "Probe Race".

July 14, 2061 = A Seattle City judge sentenced a former volunteer youth football coach at the Southwest Athletic Club in West Seattle to three years in prison for molesting a boy he coached. Myron Davis, 32, molested the 10-year-old boy last year while the boy was spending the night at his Federal Way home. 

July 15, 2061 = Joy Glassman, a 60-year-old mother of a firefighter, was charged with five counts of arson. She allegedly set the fires to help her son's career

July 16, 2061 = In Everett, a man who represented himself in his third murder trial over the 2029 death of his wife was convicted yesterday for a third time. Jerry Bartlett Jones Jr., a former pharmaceutical salesman, asked to be sent to prison as soon as possible so he can finish the time he has left from his previous conviction, about three years. Both of the earlier verdicts were overturned on appeal.

July 17, 2061 = An 18-year-old Auburn man who is accused of burning down his apartment building after trying to set his mother on fire was charged with assault and four counts of arson today.

July 18, 2061 = Lone Star searched last night for a white sport utility vehicle that struck an elderly woman and drove away. "A woman, in her 80s, was crossing the street in the 600 block of Shelton Avenue Northeast, in Renton, when the SUV hit her around 7:20 p.m.", said Renton Lone Star Officer Jon Schuldt. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Valley Medical Center.

 July 19, 2061 = Capital Hill Fire Station was broken into twice early this morning. Two groups of shadowrunners broke into the fire station. When one group spotted the other a shoot out ensued. The fire fight left six of the shadowrunners dead. 

July 20, 2061 = A skirmish broke out between the Lake Acids and the Leather Devils in Bellevue today. No deaths were reported.

 July 21, 2061 = In AGS, King Berthold I of the Black Forest Troll Kingdom was reported missing after not attending his scheduled meetings. Investigations as to his whereabouts turned up empty handed. 

July 22, 2061 = In the U.K., Stonehenge was mysteriously restored during a Summer Solstice dawn ceremony. 

July 23, 2061 = Nick Osborne was attacked by a showrunner group. The group was beleived to be working for the Bronze at the time. Nick geeked all eight shadowrunners. 

July 24, 2061 = A man in early 20s was found dead in a Auburn house this afternoon. Lone Star say the man had been geeked but wouldn't say how. The man's name was not released. 

July 25, 2061 = Ryan Gaitlin, 21, walked up to two Lone Star officers who were showing their squad car computer equipment to children in a Tacoma neighborhood. When he asked how the system worked, the officers asked to use his credstick for an example. Gaitlin gave them his credstick, they entered it into the computer, and moments later they arrested Gaitlin because information on the screen showed that Gaitlin was wanted for a two-year-old armed robbery in Bellevue. 

July 26, 2061 = Downtown Seattle, a group of men broke into a party supply store were all geeked. Three were shot by security and the last one was beaten to death by a customer with her shoe. 

July 27, 2061 = Puyallup Mayor Jason Connors just announced his big "action agenda" for Northeast Puyallup, a multimillion-nuYen investment to make Puyallup a healthy place for people and businesses. 

July 28, 2061 = A man wearing a clown costume, make-up, a purple wig, and bedroom slippers assaulted a mechanic. The Snohomish Examiner reported that the clown had knocked on the mechanic's door and had demanded to see "Kathy." When the mechanic explained that he didn't know anyone named Kathy, the clown had accused him of having an affair with her, grabbed a lamp, hit him over the head and ran away. 

July 29, 2061 = An off-duty Seattle police officer was shot in the leg when his gun accidentally fired. The officer, an 11-year veteran, was in uniform but working off-duty at a supermarket in Snohomish. He was apparently readjusting his firearm when it went off, firing at least one, and possibly two, rounds. The officer had a wound in his upper thigh and another in his calf. The officer was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The shooting remains under investigation. 

July 30, 2061 = Christine McQueen was 27, the mother of an 8-year-old girl, when she vanished in 2056 after working the late shift at the Ak-Wa Co. shipbuilding plant on the Tideflats. Today, Tacoma City prosecutors filed first-degree murder charges against the co-worker long suspected of killing her: Daniel R. Maples, now 47 and a Level 3 sex offender."There is some additional evidence now that there wasn't before," chief criminal City Prosecutor Jerry Costello said. "Lone Star has continued to investigate it over the years." 

July 31, 2061 = "Ice Man" McDonald assassinated three DEA officers while at their desks. The FBI is investigating how McDonald infiltrated and exited the facility without being spotted. 

August 1, 2061 = Universal Omnitech announced a break through in a genetic food supplement. The goal is to create food in pill form with no fat and all the flavor. 

August 2, 2061 = The Philippine Islands were battered by a large typhoon. Thousands died, hundreds are missing. 

August 3, 2061 = Yamatetsu reported a group of men were geeked while attempting to infiltrate their Svobodnly Cosmodrome launch facility. Yamatetsu states the group was comprised of shadowrunners. 

August 4, 2061 = Two teens Auburn set their school on fire. When arrested they claimed "The Comet made us do it." 

August 5, 2061 = After a short chase, a Lone Star officer charged a driver of a white Mazda with a DUI. The car had been driving down Pacific Coast Highway with the upper half of a traffic light pole laying across its hood. When the Bronze asked the drunk driver about the pole, he responded: "It came with the car when I bought it." 

August 6, 2061 = Another typhoon hits the Philippine Islands hundreds more die. 

August 7, 2061 = Lone Star began an aggressive hiring campaign. Offering sign up bonuses and increased medical benefits. 

August 8, 2061 = In Britanny, France, Gwendal Le Pellec has withdrawn from public view, making only rare public appearances. As a result, the High Council of Britanny has begun to fracture. As a result the Kevredigezh an heol, a faction led by Ghislain Huelben which lobbies for Brittany's total independence, has begun to grow in strength. 

August 9, 2061 = In the U.K., several ley lines have mysteriously lengthened. 
At Prince Edward Island, UCAS, the Abegweit radicals blew up Confederation Bridge which is the most efficient means of reaching the island from the mainland. As a result, President Haeffner sent in the Army and the Magical Task Force to restore order. Things quickly got tense as tourists were evacuated from the island. The rebels occupied Providence House in Charlottetown and broadcast their manifesto using pirated satellite channels. Out of respect for the historic building, the UCAS army pulled back from Providence House. 

August 10, 2061 = Aztechnology laid off 100 employees from it's Seattle main office and announced pay cuts for 500 more. 

August 11, 2061 = Sources within Novatech confirmed today that the Whipple space probe veered drastically off course yesterday and will miss its rendezvous with Halley's Comet. Novatech sources attributed the tragedy to a "glitch". 
This leaves Yamatetsu's Gagarin probe as the only remaining contender able to reach Halley's Comet on its first pass.

August 13, 2061 = Roger Bernal, a nephew of HKB founder Paul Bernal Jr. and the apparent mastermind of the HKB takeover of Transys Neuronet, has fleed to Bermuda and disappeared. 

August 14, 2061 = New Orleans, CAS; Police have no leads in the brutal slaying discovered today. At least eleven adults and two children were murdered. There is no confirmation whether this is the work of a single mass murderer, or whether cult activity, or drugs were involved. 

August 15, 2061 = In Bellevue, an Ares executive and her family were discovered dead this morning by a neighbor. Lone Star reported that it appeared to be a murder-suicide.
At Prince Edward Island, UCAS, a massive hurricane, supposedly caused by magicians working for the Abegweit radicals, layed waste to the island. The military effort to crush the rebels was severely hampered. 

August 16, 2061 = In Tacoma, the Yakuza attacked the DeClerry's bar early this morning. The owner, Vince DeClerry was wounded in the attack. The three attacking Yaks were geeked, along with two mafiosi. 

August 17, 2061 = The Ragers attacked a family of humans who were walking along the Tacoma docks at noon. No one was geeked, but the family of four was severly injured. 

August 18, 2061 = In Everett, The Rubber Suit was attacked by eight Mafia thugs. Twelve people were geeked, only eight of them Yaks. The other four were members of the First Nations Gang, who commonly work for the Yaks. 

August 19, 2061 = In Renton, a large fire fight broke out infront of the Murdered Mime this evening. Sixteen people in all were killed. It is unclear which were Yakuza, Mafia, or just unlucky. 

August 20, 2061 = The Night Hunters attacked a group of Metahumans, whose van broke down in their territory. The Metas weren't geeked, but got fragged pretty good. 

August 21, 2061 = Captain Willian McQueen, of the UCAS Army, was found floating face down in the shark tank at the Fort Lewis Zoo. The sharks had helped themselves to the Captains body, so Lone Star and Army MP's are unsure at the cause of death. 

August 22, 2061 = The Spiders Gang discovered a small bugs nest in Redmond, near Touristville. The Spiders geeked the nest, but six of them took the fall. 

August 23, 2061 = A group of comet whorshipers decended on Seattle City Hall annoucing "The End is Here." The mob stayed relatively peaceful.
In Lebanon, President Elias Khouri, a Maronite Christian, was killed in a suspicious car accident. 

August 24, 2061 = A group of six teenagers were caught attempting to hack school computers and change their grades. Bellevue Superintendant Matthew McPhee stated that the teens would be charged to the maximum degree.
In Lebanon, Prime Minister Abdul Karami seized control of the government and invited Syrian troops in for “peacekeeping” purposes. Syria, which is a member of the nation of Arabia (a conglomeration of several Middle Eastern nations including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Syria and Bahrain under the direction of its spiritual leader and leader of the Islamic Unity Movement Badr al Din Ibn Eisa.), took control of the nation of Lebanon. 

August 25, 2061 = In Downtown Seattle, a City Spirit went beserk, killing it's summoner and destroying several vehicles. The spirit was banished by a licensed Aztechnology Mage. 

August 26, 2061 = Governor Lindstrom announced a .2% increase to gasoline and methane tax, to "improve driving conditions". 

August 27, 2061 = The Black Rains decided that the Razor Heads were in their territory and attacked six members of the gang. The Razor Heads retreated, but came back in force. Five Black Rains were geeked. 

August 28, 2061 = Vladivstok; The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that it is investigating the disappearance of over twenty citizens of Vladivstok. All missing persons are believed to be members of an outlawed cult called Bridging the Void. Cult members believe that the appearance of Halley's Comet signals the opening of a "bridge between worlds" that will see the return of an unknown type of spirit or spirits destined to rule metahumanity. The cult members have been missing for over a week. 

August 29, 2061 = In Bellevue, four shadowrunners were geeked when they atempted to break into Cavilard Research Center. 

August 30, 2061 = Just Moments before Yamatetsu's Gagarin probe was to intercept Halley's Comet, telemetry specialists lost contact with the probe. Yamatetsu hopes that the communication break is temporary and that contact will be re-established. 

August 31, 2061 = Carl S. Toran narrowly dogded a speeding car in Downtown Seattle. The Metroplex Attorney was not hit and did not suffer injuries. 

September 1, 2061 = Governor Linstrom was nearly shot by a man while leaving Metroplex Hall. The Governors bodyguard was hit and the gunman was quickly geeked. The Bodyguard is recovering at an undisclosed hospital. 

September 2, 2061 = Portland; At least six severed metahuman tongues were diascovered drilled to sign posts surrounding a small city park. Police refused to answer allegations that some sort of ritual was conducted there. 

September 3, 2061 = The 405 Hellhounds and the Blood Mountain Boys clashed near the Renton Airport. A member from each gang was geeked and a few others were injured. 

September 4, 2061 = Shocking news from Mecca this evening. It appears that Badr al Din Ibn Eisa, leader of the popular Islamic Unity Movement, was gunned down by unknown assailants. The death of Islam's premier charismatic leader was verified a few hours later. 

September 5, 2061 = Halley's Comet is visvle to the naked eye today. Puyallup citizens were surprised this morning by hundreds of humans and metahumans dressed in long white tunics handing out flowers and bags of prepared food. The group, calling itself the Church of the Undying Light, has established an outreach center in the Puyallup Barrens, at 152nd and Canyon Rd. 

September 6, 2061 = Officials at St. Mary's Hospital, in Atlanta, CAS, confirmed that an unidentified male troll admitted last night seems to have undergone a second phase of Goblinization. Hospital officials stated that he seems to have undergone a, "recessive phase of his previous Goblinization." 

September 7, 2061 = The Halloweeners attacked a downtown Buy-Low Foods. They grabbed everything the could, then torched the place. 

September 8, 2061 = A purple Elf started a riot in Tacoma today. MOM was having a pro-Meta demonstration when the riot broke out. The Elf reportedly hit a human who was counter demonstrating. The whole thing was caught on trideo by a local man who filmed the demonstration from his sixth floor apartment. The riot left five dead and seven others wounded.
The Havana Guerillas won the urban brawl Super Brawl. 

September 9, 2061 = A joyous Islamic Unity Movement held a press conference just minutes ago to announce the resurrection of movement leader Badr al Din Ibn Eisa. Despite being confirmed dead five days ago after masked assailants shot him infront of the Ka'bah, Ibn Eisa appeared in person this morning to a group of mourning followers outside his mausoleum in Mecca. Cheering crowds greeted Ibn Eisa as he embraced other movement leaders and made the following brief statement: "I have much work yet to do for Allah. In my time of absence, I was granted a vision of a new path to take. The Islamic Unity Movement has served its purpose. Our people will soon be as one. Now it is time to look towards our enemies, those who would strike us down. I declare a new movement to carry forth Allah's will. I declare a New Islamic Jihad." 

September 10, 2061 = Hundreds transform in a new waive of Goblinization. Those affected have been dubbed "changlings". The transformations vary wildly. Panic ensues. 

September 11, 2061 = Riots errupt all over the Metropolex and fires burn out of control. Corp facilities and neighborhoods are locked down. 

September 12, 2061 = Governor Lindstrom declared a State of Emergency and called troops from Ft. Lewis to help contain the chaos. 
In AGS, the National Action policlub bombed the Munich Bureau of Metahuman Affairs and released an airborne strain of VITAS. Riots were brutally suppressed when Renraku forces were called in to aid local authorities. 

September 13, 2061 = Lone Star declared that arson is responsible of the conflagration that consumed the new outreach center for the Church of the Undying Light in the Puyallup Barrens. At least a dozen Church members were killed in the blaze. Several other members are also missing. 

September 14, 2061 = Governor Lindstrom announced the Metropolex is under Martial Law and a curfew is in effect. Fires continue to rage out of control. Hundreds have been reported dead or missing. Ehran the Scribe issued a statement today, on the Matrix calling for calm in the face of SURGE. 

September 15, 2061 = Previously unknown spirits manifested near the Dunkelzahn Rift in Dee Cee. They broke through the UCAS Army's spirit patrol perimeter and swiftly moved off into Astral Space. 
Downtown, Rohit Talwar, one of the more outspoken leaders of O.R.C., was killed while trying to peacefully protect a SURGE changeling from a street gang. The changeling was also killed. 

September 16, 2061 = Most fires are contained or extinguished. Martial Law is abated. Costs of rebuilding and repair have been estimated in the billions of nuyen. Reports of panic and riots have come in from all over the world. Reports of uncommon openness and civic-mindedness reported from the Czech Republic. 

September 17, 2061 = Mayor Combs, of Everett was taken to Bay View Hospital after a "nearly fatal heart attack." 

September 18, 2061 = A gang of Changlings appeared in Redmond today, when they attacked an armored car full of food. The gang calls itself, the "Changed Warriors". 
In Tir na nOg, a series of small magic storms hit Connaught and Meath and the Doineann Draoidheil. The magical storms move far inland of counties Kerry, Sligo, Derry and Antrim. Other magical phenomena were reported up and down the Great Cairn Line. Finally, the Veil warped and solidified, preventing travel in or out of Tir na nOg. 

September 19, 2061 = In Quebec, the Harmful Paranormals Act was ammended to include SURGEd species and exclude dragons. 

September 20, 2061 = A mana storm rocked the Ute nation today. Damage was minimal, but several astrally projecting magicians got geeked when the storm hit. 

September 21, 2061 = In New York, UCAS, a group of terrorists attacked the Cermak Inc tower on Manhatten Island. The terrorists geeked over twenty security personel and six office workers. The terrorists were geeked when they attempted to make their escape. The name of the terrorist organization is unknown and no terrorist group has yet to claim responsibility. 

September 22, 2061 = Sharon Wu gave birth to quintuplets today. For those of you who aren't in the know, Sharon Wu is Wu-Lung Wei's wife. Wu-Lung Wei is CEO of Wuxing and these are his first kids. 

September 23, 2061 = Lone Star announced today that it has obtained evidence linking a string of mass killings across the globe to a comet-worshipping cult known as Bridging the Void. It is unclear yet whether those killed in six seperate scenes of mass slaughter in Tenochtitlan, Ankara, Seattle, Pusan, Tunis and Samarkand were members of the cult or victims. Neither mass suicide nor mass murder are being ruled out as an option. Lone Star stated, "Members of Bridging the Void are to be considered heavily armed, skilled in magic and extremely dangerous. We believe that the cult may be conducting ritual suicides or murder in order to open an alleged gateway between the metaplanes." No other information is available at this time. 

September 24, 2061 = Astral space surounding Wuxing's HQ in Hong Kong has become visible to magician and mundane alike. The visible space streches out for over a kilometer. 

September 25, 2061 = Devil's Tower in the Sioux Nation underwent a mysterious, undetected growth. It increased from 262 meters to 356. No seismic activity was recorded.
In Tir ns nog, the viel is no longer warped or solidified, travel is proceeding normally. 

September 26, 2061 = In Renton, Rose's Magic Garden, a talismonger shop, was firebombed and a small riot ensued. Twelve people were arrested.
In Spain, the Partido Militar is enjoying a surge in popularity with the apparent resurrection of Badr al Din Ibn Eisa. 

September 27, 2061 = A severe mana storm struck southern Pueblo Corporate Council and continued toward Roswell, Aztlan. Pueblo reported minor damages. Aztlan has not officially reported damages. Although, inside sources report Roswell was fragged pretty good.
In Württemberg, AGS, the provincial government rounded up all SURGE changelings and imprisoned them in quarantine camps. 

September 28, 2061 = In the Sioux Nation, a group of protesters were gunned down by Sioux Defense Force troops, when they refused to disband. The protesters were mostly Tsalagi (Cherokee). 

September 29, 2061 = SURGE paranoia is far from over, a group of Changlings were geeked in Renton today. The four victims were seen fleeing a group of Nighthunters. 
In Chaco Canyon, Pueblo Corporate Council, NAN, people at the Anasazi ruins began reporting visions, seeing images, and hearing sounds with no visible source. Shamans at the site also report astral changes. The government closed off the site and sent in scientists and shamans to study the phenomenon. 

September 30, 2061 = In Auburn, a van attempted to gain illegal access to the Ultra Resort on Tapps Island. The van rammed the baracade and six individuals opened fire on the guard post. The Ultra Resort Sercurity Personnel killed all six individuals, who were later identified as shadowrunners. 
The Ute Nation offered to assist the Pueblo Corporate Council in their investigations for the Anasazi ruins. Their offer was turned down. 

October 1, 2061 = An eleven year old boy was arrested today for cracking into Metroplex Hall's PLTG. The boy had legally changed his age to twenty-one and had issued himself a driver's license, before Lone Star was contacted. 
The Ute Nation forcefully offered assistance to the PCC, stating that they were concerned with events that occur on their borders. The Pueblo Corporate Council again refused. 

October 2, 2061 = A Humanis demonstration, near the Dunkelzahn Rift in DC, calling for the detention and isolation of SURGE changelings became a riot after inflammatory speeches were made and the crowd attempted to penetrate the rift cordon. The unusual thing about the incident, that was kept from the media, was that the areas background count was abnormally high. Spells dangerously drained mages and summoned spirits refused to follow orders, and instead hovered near the rift. 

October 3, 2061 = Reports from the Athabaskan Council today, it seems the astral space around the Harding Icefield has become visible to magician and mundane. 

October 4, 2061 = Justin McCullers was shot and killed after being pulled over for a broken tail light. One officer told McCullers he looked familiar, when McCullers pulled an Ares Perdator and opened fire. After a several hour chase, McCullers was shot and killed by a Lone Star Northrup Wasp attack helicopter. The Lone Star officer was treated at a Downtown hospital and released. 

October 5, 2061 = Jitsuno "Jim" Yokozuna was recalled back to Japan after he SURGE'd early this morning. Yokozuna became a cyclops and his ears pointed, guess Mitsuhama doesn't want a Changling as VP of Mitsuhama Seattle. 

October 6, 2061 = Reports of small areas of Astral space bercoming visible to magician and mundane alike are coming in from all over the world. These pockets of visible Astral space are lasting anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Research into this strange phenomena is already underway by corporations, goverments, and private institutions. 

October 7, 2061 = An assassin was geeked by security at Brackhaven Investments in Downtown Seattle this morning. The assassin had an unarmed bomb that was clearly intended for Kenneth himself. The attempted assassin had ties with the Orc Rights Commission. 

October 8, 2061 = Several Kabuki Ronin were arrested while attempting to smuggle BTL's into Everett. An "anonymous" tip was called into Lone Star just a few minutes before the arrest. 

October 9, 2061 = A team of runners were geeked while attempting to "liberate" a couple hell hound puppies from Fort Lewis Zoological Gardens. Ironically, it was not security who geeked them, but the animals themselves. Apparently the runners got a little confused on which way was out and ran afoul of a cerberus hound. 

October 10, 2061 = The word is that a few of those arrested in connection with the fire bombing of Rose's Magic Garden, in Renton, have been linked to a fanatical religious group called the Seventh Seal, lead by one Jeremiah Adams. Also, Jitsuno "Jim" Yokozuna has gone missing since being recalled. 

October 11, 2061 = The Razor Heads clashed with the Ancients in Tacoma, near Puyallup. 2 Razor Heads were geekd, as well as 2 Ancients. 

October 12, 2061 = An infant found dead this afternoon in his Bellevue home was beaten to death and did not drown as initially suspected. The child's mother, Lea Currie, 24, was charged with murder. She is single and has no other children. 

October 13, 2061 = In the Deecee Sprawl, UCAS, members of the Dunkelzhan Institute of Magic Research investigating the Watergate rift witnessed a dozen or more spirit entities identical to the ones who escaped the rift on September 15, along with another unidentified type of spirit resembling incandescent balls of light numbering approximately twenty, spontaneously appeared through the rift. Many of them manifested on the physical plane where they drew the attention of a large crowd of onlookers gathered just outside the Army cordon. The spirits seemed to rush the crowd which sparked a panic that quickly developed into a riot. Eleven people, including First Lt. James Two-Hats, a military Bear shaman, were killed and six were seriously wounded. A few of the spirits were destroyed, but the rest escaped. The military extended the safety cordon another 50 meters. 

October 14, 2061 = An ambush in Renton left 4 Yakuza dead, and 1 missing. The word is that it was not a Mafia attack, but something personel. The local Gumi has sworn revenge. 

October 15, 2061 = A 28 year old Tacoma man fell about seven stories to his death this morning, when he tried to escape from an elevator that was stuck between floors at a Bellevue shopping center. He pried open the doors and was attempting to jump to the floor below, but fell backward and down the open elevator shaft. He was dead when Doc Wagon medics arrived on the scene. 

October 16, 2061 = Simon Ronaldo Garcia, known to fans of The Chipmunks as "Simon," was found dead this morning wrapped in a tarp in a liquor store parking lot in Redmond, Touristville. Police suspect a drug overdose as the cause of death. 

October 17, 2061 = A rotocar accident has lawmakers questioning the ease of getting air liscences. John Quarvo, a Seattle Native, was flying his rotorcar when he collided with a passing airbus. John, 6 of the airbus passengers, including the driver, were killed instantly. At least 3 more poeple were killed and 12 more were injured when the debris fell from the sky. 

October 18, 2061 = Noted visionary Kyle Zambrota staked his claim for the date of the end of the world, picking the exact middle of the year 2500. The announcement countered a trend among doomsday predictors, many of whom have recently called for the end of the world on or near the year 2070. It came as a relief to many of Zambrota's followers, who are now assured they will be able to live out their lifetimes. 

October 19, 2061 = Rachel Sium, was arrested in Tacoma when she attempted to purchase drugs at an aparment, while it was being searched by Lone Star. 

October 20, 2061 = A man who caused a highway pile-up fled the scene and drove to a lap dancing club. There, Peter Aldred, 41, boasted to two pretty dancers how he had made off from the crash site leaving a dazed driver in the middle of the road. The dancers, Nikki Wright, 23, and her friend Zoe Young, 27, were so appalled by Aldred's drunken boasts that they decided to "shop him". As Zoe performed a 60¥ "VIP dance" for Aldred "to keep him occupied", Nikki alerted the management at the Spearmint Rhino Club in Everett who contacted Lone Star. Aldred was still standing at the bar a short while later when Lone Star burst in and arrested him. 

October 21, 2061 = In Los Angeles, CFS, sim-star Winona Flying Horse underwent a SURGE mutation which gave her horns and claws. She locked herself away in her Studio City home. 

October 22, 2061 = In Halifax, Nova Scotia, UCAS, a megalodon shark ripped the bottom out of a freighter in Halifax Harbor. It then devoured the crew as they tried to escape in lifeboats. 

October 23, 2061 = After going missing, Michael Sutherland resurfaced as head of Matrix Security for Wuxing, Inc. 

October 24, 2061 = In Cairo, Egypt, Islamic mullahs, who normally hold significant sway over the local population, began to mobilize for the Islamic Unity Movement. 

October 25, 2061 = In Los Angeles, CFS, Clarisa Rogers, a hairdresser and student at UCLA, underwent a SURGE mutation which turned her skin, hair, and eyes a deep black. Amalgamated Studios quickly signed her to a three-picture deal. 

October 26, 2061 = In New Orleans, Louisiana, CAS, Pamela Rodenbush, heir to the Kozlowski Mafia family, underwent SURGE mutation. 

October 27, 2061 = In Japan, a series of small tremors caused minor structural damage in Yokohama and Nagoya. Later that afternoon, the Unzen Volcano, which covers much of the Shimabara Peninsula erupted without warning. The main center of the eruption focused on Mount Fugendake, but there were several other eruptions in other areas of the volcano as well. Another earthquake, this one measuring 7.2 on the scale, devastated Yokohama and another one occured in the Sea of Japan. The city of Shimabara was nearly obliterated in the blast and several other cities and towns suffered terrible damage and loss of life from tsunami, hot ash rains, rock falls, and toxic gas clouds caused by the eruption. The entire island of Japan was covered in black ash. The death toll is in the tens of thousands and the damage is estimated in the range of tens of billions of nuyen. 
In the CFS, the entire Bay Area was struck by a massive earthquake. The city of San Francisco, built to withstand tremors and quakes, came out mostly unharmed, but the Berkeley/Oakland sprawl suffered massive damage.
In New Zealand, Mount Ngauruhoe erupted, shot hot ash and cinders and started several uncontrolled fires.
In the Aleutian Islands, volcanic vents spewed debris into the air, smashing cars and property. 14 people were injured.
In Indonesia, volcanic eruptions and tidal waves stripped away much of the coastline. Thousands were reported missing, presumed dead.
In the Philippines, Mount Canlaon on the island of Negros, Mount Manyon, Mount Pinatubo, and Mount Taal on the island of Luzon, Mount Mantalingajan on the island of Palawan, and Mount Apo on the island of Mindanao simultaneously erupted causing widespread destruction throughout the islands. The Japanese megacorporations holed up in their enclaves and dealt brutally with any native who tried to breach their security.
In Aztlan, the Santa Maria Quezaltenango volcano scoured the countryside with lava and ash as well as emitting toxic fumes near the city of Concepcion. Over 50 people were killed in the eruption.
In Iwo Jima, Japan, Mount Suribachi erupted, covering large portions of the island and forcing a full evacuation. 

October 28, 2061 = Cairo, Egypt, is quickly becoming a refuge for secular Arabs and Middle Easterners who don’t agree with Islamic Unity Movement policies. 

October 29, 2061 = In Japan, the Diet convened in an emergency session. All suborbital flights were cancelled and ports on the island of Kyushu were closed for safety reasons. Prime Minister Shobo Kazama called for an official investigation into the Shiawase Envirotech geological monitoring and risk management of Unzen and why the monitoring systems did not give an early warning of the eruption. Shiawase Envirotech gave no comment. The Diet also ordered all Imperial Marines on foreign soil to return to Japan to help deal with the crisis, including troops in San Francisco, CAS, the Philippines, Peru, and Northern Australia. 

October 30, 2061 = In the AGS, Hedwig Gabler escaped from Bruchsaal high security prison with help from her comrades in the Great Badisch Crusade (GBC). 

October 31, 2061 = In DeeCee Sprawl, UCAS, an Asian wujen reported to the military units at the Watergate rift that his ancestor spirit told him that the "dead" are returning. 

November 1, 2061 = In Westphalia, AGS, Cardinal von Heeremann declared SURGE to be sent by God to test the faithful. As a result, the German Catholic Church split ideologically between the hardliners who condemn any non-church sanctioned magic and the liberals who welcome the church's new open stance. 

November 2, 2061 = In Halifax, Nova Scotia, UCAS, a blackberry cat escaped into a dockyard and caused several boat crews to jump overboard before it was caught by Lone Star, after causing a wedding party to jump off the yacht. Party Animal. 

November 3, 2061 = In Auvergne, France, the volcanoes erupted again, only this time the eruption occured entirely on the astral plane. Astral lava, deadly to astral and dual natured creatures but otherwise harmless, flooded the area. The only effect on the physical plane were mild tremors. 

November 4, 2061 = In San Francisco, CFS, Colonel Keiji Saito of the Japanese Imperial Marines, who was leading the rear guard of the withdrawing Japanese forces, declared that he refuses to obey the Diet's withdrawl order. With the aid of loyal troops and Japanese megacorporations, Col. Saito staged a coup in San Francisco. Rumors state that some troops tried to arrest him but were gunned down. It is also rumored that he allowed those of his troops that did not wish to join him to withdraw back to Japan, but the first ship of these troops to leave San Francisco sunk with all hands aboard lost. Colonel Saito appointed himself Protectorate General and with his two divisions of Imperial Marines, established control over the city. 

November 5, 2061 = In San Francisco, CFS, Imperial Governor Shiro Kawanaga has vanished from sight. General Saito declared that he will hold San Francisco as a Protectorate of Japan until such time as the Emperor realizes his mistake and that he will protect it from "criminal metahuman mobs" whose "wickedness is a perversion of all that the Japanese Empire stands for, an insult to the Yamato Spirit that binds us together." 

November 6, 2061 = Saito's forces have quickly moved into the Central Valley area, taking the city of Sacramento, McClellan Air Force Base, Beale Air Force Base in Marysville, and Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, naming the entire area the California Protectorate. Ares Macrotechnology troops led by General Torres and Lieutenant Colonel L. Ritter halted the general's advance before he could take Silicon Valley. He also left the dwarven community of Halferville alone when they threatened to destroy the Caldecott tunnel at the fist sign of invasion. The General placed most of the Sacramento government under house arrest and started placing the city's metahumans in internment camps outside the city. 

November 7, 2061 = In the Algonkian-Manitou Council, NAN, a tip from a "concerned citizen" reported an eco-terrorist cell meeting to prepare an attack in a houseboat dry-docked next to Hudson Bay. A force of troops, including a company of Aztechnology security guards, attacked the boat with incendiary weapons and magic. Everyone on board was killed. Among the casualties were a dozen prominent leaders of the Manitou tribe and five well-known anti-Aztechnology activists 

November 8, 2061 = In Finland, dozens of new SURGE variants of paranormal creatures were spotted in the awakened forest on the northern shore of the Gulf of Bothina. The creatures were unusually hostile and there was also a sharp spike in the local astral background count. 

 November 9, 2061 = In the Algonkian-Manitou Council, NAN, the surviving leaders of the Manitou tribe gathered together in their Great Lodge at Lynn Lake to discuss the tragedy. They invited all sympathizers to attend. They also issued a press release inviting War Chief Longmiles Long Arms and any representative of Aztechnology to attend. All refused. 

November 10, 2061 = In the U.K. the Lord Protector's Office enacted legislation requiring all SURGE changelings register with the government. 

November 11, 2061 = In Halifax, Nova Scotia, UCAS, a smuggling boat containing four stolen Merlin hawks was captured by Lone Star. 

November 12, 2061 = In Warsaw-Lodz, Poland, local Syndikat crime lord Rudy was murdered, allegedly by Vor Sergei Lukin. 

November 13, 2061 = In the Algonkian-Manitou Council, NAN, the Manitou politely expelled all members of the press and non-elves from the area and enforced a perimeter around the Lynn Lake Lodge. 

November 14, 2061 = In Spain, menhir rings begin to sprout in the Pyrenees, the Monegros Desert and in lands north of Zaragoza. 

November 15, 2061 = In Halifax, Nova Scotia, UCAS, a new drug, known on the streets as Halo, resulted in at least ten deaths by overdose. The corpses all have the look of extreme pleasure on their faces and are being called “grinning corpses” by Lone Star. 

November 16, 2061 = In the Glastonbury, U.K., astral shallows have been discovered. 

November 17, 2061 = In Warsaw-Lodz, Poland, fearing all-out war, the AK brokers made an arrangement between Zbychu, Rudy's son and heir, and Jacek Wisner, boss of the Katowice Syndykat. 

November 18, 2061 = In Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandanavian Union, the Copenhagen Accords were signed promising the "ethical use" of bio-agents. 

November 19, 2061 = In the Algonkian-Manitou Council, NAN, after a week of meeting, the Manitou leaders left without comment. 

November 20, 2061 = In Gallup, Pueblo-Corporate Council, NAN, during a Kachina Society ceremony, four masked dancers drew automatic weapons and shoot several other dancers. One of the victims was Board Chairman Carlos Estefan. The Board appointed Miguel Lusie'dzil as acting chairman. 

November 21, 2061 = In Baton Rouge, CAS, Christophe Fauviau, 46, was sentenced to eight years in prison in the death of a young tennis player who ingested a sports drink Fauviau admitted to spiking with a tranquilizer. Fauviau said he spiked 27 young players' drinks before their tournament matches against his son Max and his rising-star daughter Valentine. 

November 22, 2061 = In Warsaw-Lodz, Poland, the Katowice and Zbychu Syndykats are absorbing the smaller mobs in the area and geeking those who refuse. 

November 23, 2061 = Reports are coming in that those who observed Haley's Comet near Crater Lake, Tir Tairngire, reported seeing a brilliant aurora above the lake for nearly an hour on the autumnal equinox. 

November 24, 2061 = Lone Star officer Alain McGruff, a French immigrant, was arrested at a local coffeehouse last week where he had arranged to meet what he thought was an underage female for a sexual encounter. "Katie", the female he had hoped to meet, turned out to be an undercover officer who made contact with McGruff while chatting on a matrix chat host called "Just Us Kids". After obtaining a search warrant, officials seized two cyberterminals from McGruff's apartment along with dozens of photos showing him engaged in illicit behavior with minors. 

November 25, 2061 = A 15 year old Touristville youth was shot and killed yesterday in an attack that was surprisingly not gang related. The 25 youths interviewed by police as witnesses say that they were just “sitting on their porch, drinking 40s, minding their own business”, when a car drove by and a boy jumped out, firing 2 shots into the 15 year old, whose name is not being released to the public because of his age. Apparently, the only item taken from the youth was his bracelet, embroidered with the letters “WWJD?”, which stand for “What Would Jesus Do?”. Other valuables, such as the boy’s TNT sneakers, or his wallet containing 50¥, were not touched. The youth received the bracelet at a student outreach program sponsored by the local church. The boy’s parents hope that the attacker will read the bracelet, think about what Jesus would do, and turn himself into authorities. 

November 26, 2061 = A fire in Snohomish leaves a family of 4 dead. The fire started around 2 AM, while the family was sleeping. It quickly spread throughout the home and killed the family. Lone Star suspects arson may be the cause. 

November 27, 2061 = Boston, Massachusetts, UCAS, The Dunkelzahn Institute of Magical Research announced that they had discovered a vein of naturally occurring orichalcum in the Transvaal Mountains of Azania. Previously, it was believed that it was impossible for orichalcum to occur naturally. 

November 28, 2061 = A bizarre scene in Downtown Seattle, a city man jumped to his death after apparently being encouraged by rescue worker Bob Fillings. Onlookers shockingly realized that Fillings was no longer attempting to save the man, rather he was giving him tips on the most effective way to jump to ensure maximum chance of death. Fillings explains, “I know that as a rescue worker, I’m supposed to help these people. Well, I thought that the best way to help this person was to let him jump. He was a horrible father, and an inattentive husband who had just gambled away the last of his family’s life savings. I think that he was doing his family a favor by taking the easy way out. If I was his kid, I wouldn’t even go to the funeral." Fillings has been put on leave and is currently undergoing a psychological examination. 

November 29, 2061 = Tir na nOg, conflict broke out among the Danaan families over orichalcum rights found in the Tara zinc mine in county Meath and Ross Island copper mine in county Kerry. 

November 30, 2061 = The “drug” known as Halo was revealed to be corpselights bound in cages by magical wards. 

December 1, 2061 = The news of naturally occurring orichalcum has sparked an "Orichalcum Rush" around the world. 

December 2, 2061 = Los Angeles, CFS, an earthquake rating 8.5 on the Richter scale devastated the city. It is the most violent earthquake in California history. Over 10,000 people were killed. Also, the walls separating Studio City and Fun City from neighborhoods like El Infierno were destroyed. Refugees flooded over the walls into the wealthier neighborhoods, looting and killing at will. The wealthy neighborhoods quickly become armed camps under the onslaught of refugees. The studio and aerospace executives begged the CFS government for help but received none due to the invasion of General Saito. The City Authority was also unable or unwilling to provide aid. Desperate, the studio and aerospace heads asked the Ute Nation, UCAS, and Pueblo Corporate Council for assistance. 

December 3, 2061 = In fear of possibly disturbing the perfection that is his house, Donald Manison has been forced to live in his 2053 Dodge Van. “I became obsessive, everything in the house was so photo-perfect that I was eventually scared of walking on the carpet in fear that I might disturb the direction of the carpet threads.” Magazines wanting a glimpse and photos of the perfect house were limited to viewing through opened ground floor windows. When asked how long he will continue his present lifestyle he replied, “If living in my van is payment for a perfect house, I’m willing to pay.” 

December 4, 2061 = Reports are being confirmed that in the Bermuda Triangle, the number of disappearances has skyrocketed. Nine planes and ships, including a cruise liner, a flight of CAS military planes, the Aztlan ship Tlaloc, and a rescue ship sent out to find the vanished cruise liner have all disappeared in the last 2 months. Some of the ships reported a "strange, luminous fog" before disappearing. 

December 5, 2061 = Boston, Massachusetts, UCAS, Ian O'Donnel, leader of the Knights of the Red Branch, was found burned to death in the tunnels beneath the Dunkelzahn Institute for Magical Research along with two other Knights of the Red Branch members. No explanation was given as to what they were doing there or who/what killed them. 

December 6, 2061 = Tacoma, a man was arrested this morning for sexually assaulting a manikin at a women’s fashion outlet store. Store clerks described how the man made several trips past the manikin, and then went up onto the podium where he commenced to fondle the manikin’s breasts. When questioned about the incident, he said "I couldn't help it, she had the nicest set of tits I’ve seen in a long time." 

December 7, 2061 = Westrhine-Luxembourg, AGS, in response to discovering orichalcum deposits in the Eifel Mountains, Grand Duke Adolphe III formed the Ducal Mining Coalition (DMC) out of five smaller mining companies. He quickly discovered that the profit margin is less than the cost of keeping out the competition. December 8, 2061 = Military forces from the Pueblo Corporate Council occupied Los Angeles, claiming the city as Pueblo Corporate Council territory. 

December 9, 2061 = Ute Nation officials condemned the Pueblo-Corporate Council's annexation of Los Angeles as hostile "military adventurism." December 10, 2061 = In Everett, the Red Rovers were wiped out by a gang of unidentified assassins. The group was identified as two human males and an elf female. 

December 11, 2061 = A massive raid in Puyallup shuts down the "Crime Mall". Over 100 Lone Star officers raided the so-called "Crime Mall" in Downtown Puyallup, arresting 30 and geeking 6. In the past, Lone Star has been unable to raid the mall, due to the "merchants" electronic early warning system. It is unclear why the system was not functioning. 

December 12, 2061 = In Marienbad, AGS, the great dragon Schwartzkopf thwarted AG Chemie and Eastern Star Pharmaceutical’s orichalcum mining operations and forced them out of the area. He then proceeded to unite the numerous baronies and duchies in the area with himself as “protector.” 

December 13, 2061 = A fire in Downtown Seattle leave 4 dead and 8 others wounded. A woman staying at the Stouffer-Madison Hotel doused her room with alcohol and set fire to her bed. The automated sprinkler system malfunctioned and the fire quickly spread out of control. The female arsonist and 3 others died in the blaze. 8 other were sent to Seattle General Hospital for smoke inhalation. 

December 14, 2061 = The Humanis Policlub organized a protest outside of Metroplex Hall, drawing over 200 supporters. The protest turned violent when some Trolls, who identified themselves as members of the Sons of Sauron, attacked the group with chains and bats. The Trolls were severely beaten by Lone Star and arrested, but not before they geeked 7 and wounded 12 of the protesters. It was later discovered that the Trolls had taken the drug Nitro before the attack. 

December 15, 2061 = Downtown Seattle, the Troll Killer's gang attacked and geeked a group of teenage Orks. They spray painted a wall nearby which read, "SOS caused this." 

December 16, 2061 = In Antarctica, Japanese scientists discovered an orichalcum vein running beneath the Transantarctic Mountains. Before Imperial Marines could be sent to fortify the site, a massive blizzard blanketed the area and indefinitely cut off communication with the team. 

December 17, 2061 = The Bloody Screamers attacked and geeked a small group of humans in the Windmere neighborhood in Downtown Seattle. They spray painted a wall nearby which read, "TK caused this." 

December 18, 2061 = The Red Rovers reappeared in Everett, along I-9. They painted the town red, spraying everything they could with red paint. They accused their long time rivals, the Double Devils, of the attack which nearly wiped them out. 

December 19, 2061 = Pueblo issued conditional shares to Los Angeles and southern California residents, making them probationary Pueblo citizens. 

December 20, 2061 = The Crime Mall reopens, this time with a "better" early warning system. Seems a couple of wires got chewed by these big fraggin' hairy rats. When a tech crew was sent to repair them, the rats geeked them. An extermination crew was called in to deal with the rat problem. 

December 21, 2061 = In Peru, a group of people held a ritual at the Nasca Lines to "honor the ancestors." Suddenly, the Nasca Lines lit up with a brilliant glow that could be seen miles away. When dawn came over the mountains the glow faded. But shamans reported that the Lines still glowed brightly in astral space. People began to converge on the site in such numbers that the government cordoned off the area.In Britanny, France, at an equinox ritual at the Carnac standing stone site, the Gwendal Le Pellec discovered a huge astral rift. 

December 22, 2061 = In Scotland, U.K., the day after the Winter Solstice ritual at the Callanish stone circle on the Isle of Lewis, the local druids discovered that the site had been desecrated. The standing stones were covered in symbols painted with blood. More blood was painted around the circle itself. In front of the central stone monolith was a slaughtered Black Angus bull. The hide of the bull had been stripped off and wrapped in a bundle in the center of the circle. Symbols were also painted on the central monolith. The Lord Protector's office sent an investigation team of druids who discovered that the wards around the circle were undisturbed. They did not discover the perpetrators of the crime, although rumors of a group called the Holy Circle of Alba, which performs ancient rituals to make the king more beholden to the priesthood, circulated in the area. 

December 23, 2061 = In Everett, an Ares cargo truck was hijacked today as it passed through the Lowell district. Lone Star has reported that they have two suspects in custody. 

December 24, 2061 = A dragon astral form broke through the Dunkelzahn Rift, followed by a wave of spirits. After retrieving his physical form, the dragon, dubbed Ghostwalker, destroyed the Aztlan teocalli and had a short skirmish with CAS security forces. It simply vanished shortly afterward. Joshua Morningstar, of the Children of the Dragon, collapsed during a board meeting. Medical and magical efforts to wake him were unsuccessful.in Chicago, Jason Two-Spirits, whose sanctum in the Containment Zone was found empty, reappeared, walked through the Ares security cordon as if it did not exist, looked around, and just as quickly vanished again. 

December 25, 2061 = Merry Christmas. The dead rose from their graves and began attacking the living. The hardest hit are large cities; Tokyo, New York, Boston, Seattle, Denver, Berlin, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Beijing, The Gemito Sprawl, Venice, Warsaw, Vienna, Athens, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Uttar Pradesh, just to name a few.Cross Applied Technologies announced the establishment of a special fund to assist in the rehabilitation of any Cross Applied Technologies employee suffering from simsense addiction. 

December 26, 2061 = Denver, FRFZ, Aztlan issued an official statement, accusing the UCAS of being responsible for Ghostwalker's attack on their territory. 

December 27, 2061 = Denver, FRFZ, UCAS officials denied Aztlan's accusation, citing that they were as perplexed by the event as Aztlan.Joshua Morningstar abruptly woke up in his hospital bed and called for his clothes. He quickly called David Dragonson and the rest of the board of the Children of the Dragon for an emergency meeting. He declared that it was revealed to him that Ghostwalker is the savior of mankind. The most of the rest of the board, including Dragonson, refuted this claim on the grounds that they believe all dragons, not just one, should be worshiped. The meeting soon became heated and ended with Joshua Morningstar storming off. 

December 28, 2061 = Denver, FRFZ, Ghostwalker resurfaced and firebombed a high-rise residence. Half a dozen residents were killed, their bodies reduced to ash in the blaze, including Glennis Shand, leader of the CAS Sector's Unity Policlub. Witnesses reported that thye saw the dragon battle some sort of powerful sprit that was deep black with pinpoints of light. They reported that the sprit radiated a sense of coldness and inhumanity before Ghostwalker destroyed it. Immediately after, he flew into the CAS sector and attacked the Unity Policlub's headquarters. The dragon paused just long enough to cause confusion, resulting in several crashed vehicles, and then vanished again. 

December 29, 2061 = Morningstar used his media contacts to put together a trid statement of his revelation, which Dragonson calmly refuted in his own trid statement. 

December 30, 2061 = Morningstar issued a press release calling for all "true" members of the church to march on the temple in DeeCee Sprawl and wrest control of it from the temple leaders. 

December 31, 2061 = Downtown, Three paddy wagons were brought in and Lone Star supplied full jumpsuits to cover the scantily clad dancers Wednesday night in one of the largest raids yet conducted by Lone Star on Rick's strip club on Lake City Way Northeast. Scott Gutierrez was out on the scene and reports that Lone Star arrested 14 dancers and one manager for what a police spokesman said were violations of the city's adult entertainment ordinance.
